Food: The Guild Pub, Preston ♥

**This was originally posted on my main blog in 2013*

This one is actually 2 minutes drive from my mums house but I've never been in, so when we were driving around with rumbling tummies we decided to pop in for dinner.

As you can see its a lovely little pub and inside it's the same all nice and light. We got here at 8:30pm and honestly the place was like a graveyard there was only one other couple in. Now this to some people would mean it's not a great place in general but as I work in a pub myself I know everyone has quiet periods so in we went.

We started off by ordering two J20's and taking a seat at a comfy booth and grabbing the menu with mouths watering! We decided to have 3 courses (naughty!) and waited for the waiter to come and take our order. Now being only one of two tables in (the other table had 3 people and already had their food) we wern't especially happy that it took 10 minutes after closing our menus for them to come and take our order.

For starters we decided to get the 'Sharing Platter For 2' which consited of; Garlic Bread, Onion Rings, Potato Wedges, Breaded Mushrooms and Chicken Wings. It also came with a garlic mayonnaise and a BBQ dipping sauce. I love how it's presented on the plate as equal amounts of food on each side,

For our mains Elliot got 'The Cowboy Burger' which is beef burger, monetary jack cheese, bacon, salad and burger sauce and it came with chips, coleslaw and extra burger sauce! We also ordered some sautéed mushrooms to share nom nom! Elliot said his burger was gorgeous!

I got the 'Trio Of Lamb Chops' which was 3 lamb chops, new potatoes, broccoli, carrots and peas and it also came with a jug of mint gravy. This was delicious!! I love a 'proper' dinner so this was perfect for me and I'm glad it lived up to its expectations. There was plenty of gravy as well which wasn't too minty.

And even though we were stuffed we HAD to get this dessert - 'Melt In The Middle Chocolate Pudding'!! I have had it before in another pub so I just had to have it even though I was so full! We got it with custard and wow it didn't disappoint! I have to say this is the most amazing pudding I have ever eaten it really is amazing! We ate every bite and didn't even feel guilty about it .... Well maybe a little bit...

I would recommend the Guild Merchant if you want a good pub meal! After the initial delay in taking our first order a waitress took over and she was lovely and very quick to bring out food/take away plates.
